Digitalization through Applied AI: Real-World Applications and Results

Mini Track Chair:

  • Mihai GHEORGHE, The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania

This section showcases measurable outcomes from applied AI across industries, pairing business results with the data and engineering that made them possible. We invite case studies, technical deep-dives, and research-in-practice that demonstrate how organizations built the data foundations, operationalized models (MLOps/LLMOps), navigated governance and EU compliance, and delivered impact—whether in forecasting, process automation, decision intelligence, or multilingual NLP for Romanian contexts. Submissions should emphasize methods, architecture, and lessons learned, with clear metrics and transferable practices that bridge economic research and applied informatics.

The main topics covered by the hereby call for papers are related to:

  • Quantified case studies across sectors (manufacturing, finance, retail, public sector) with clear KPIs.
  • Forecasting, pricing & decision intelligence (OR + ML), incl. supply-chain digital twins.
  • Computer vision & edge/IoT for quality control, predictive maintenance, and logistics.
  • Multilingual/Romanian NLP and RAG copilots over enterprise knowledge.
  • Data foundations: governance, lineage, quality, feature stores, and data products.
  • MLOps/LLMOps: deployment, evaluation, monitoring/drift, and guardrails.
  • Privacy, risk & compliance: EU AI Act readiness, explainability, robustness, auditability.
  • Scaling & adoption: portfolio management, value tracking, change enablement, citizen developers.
