The COVID-19 pandemic, Russian invasion of Ukraine, growing global population, increasing of food prices, reducing rural poverty, protecting the environment, climate change and the biodiversity crisis are just some of the challenges currently facing the agrifood systems around the world. Main topics covered by the hereby call for papers are related to solutions in order to achieve resilient and sustainable agri-food systems under global change.

Lădaru Georgiana Raluca is the Director of the Doctoral School Economics II within The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, also being associate professor in the Department of Agrifood and Environmental Economics at the same university. She has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific papers and presented works at many national and international conferences. Her main areas of expertise comprise agricultural marketing, marketing research, competitiveness of food chain etc.

Mariarosaria Lombardi has been associate professor in the scientific area of Commodity Sciences at the Department of Economics, University of Foggia (Italy) since 1 April 2022. Graduate in Economics, she took Ph.D. in Commodity Sciences at the University of Bari (Italy). She mainly deals with economic and environmental aspects of innovations applied to production processes. Since 2015, she has been member of the rural hub Vazapp, that is applying social innovation in agriculture. In 2019, she became “climate shaper” as certificated by FAO and Future Food Institute. 

Andreea Apetrei Kalveram is a full professor at Catholic University of Valencia (Spain, https://www.ucv.es/) teaching Marketing and Management courses. She is also the International Coordinator of the Business Faculty managing the visits of more than 100 students and 20 professors every year. She has participated in more than ten international exchanges herself as lecturer or staff member at universities around Europe and Asia, building networks between institutions and people. She has organised and participated in more than 30 conferences while constantly publishing studies in the areas of management and sustainability. The latter had become a passion for Andreea therefore in the last years, she had been researching the topic of sustainable marketing and sustainable fashion.

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages on the 21-23 of March 2024 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) in partnership with the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Economics (EAM) and the Faculty of International Economic Relations (REI). 

The papers accepted at ICBE 2024 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment, and presentation. The papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/picbe/picbe-overview.xml

The last 7 editions of the Proceedings of the ICBE volumes have been indexed in ISI Web of Science.

In addition, the best three Papers (Best paper Award Management&Marketing) will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Web of Science- Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (www.degruyter.com/view/j/mmcks).

A selection of the submitted papers will be published, subject to review, in the Romanian Journal of Economic Forecasting (https://ipe.ro/rjef.htm).
