Concerns over climate change, clean air and water, renewable energy and land use, continue to draw attention to sustainability, sustainable urban planning and the developmental strategies, practices and models that ensure habitable, self-sustaining communities. The role of agriculture as promoter and enabler of a circular economy has become clearer and of great significance in tackling challenges of natural resource depletion, waste management, food security and more.

The main topics covered by the hereby call for papers are related to:

  • Linear and Circular Economy Models

  • The implications of agriculture in circular business models

  • Green Infrastructure and Renewable Energy

  • International Trade and the Transition to a Circular Economy

  • Models for sourcing food grown regeneratively and locally

  • Designing and marketing healthier food product

Carmen Valentina Rădulescu has been teaching at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies since 1997.
In 2016, she defended her habilitation thesis and became PhD supervisor in the field of Economics II.
Since 2021, she is Professor, PhD, Vice-Dean responsible for the didactic activity at the Faculty of Agro-Food and Environmental Economics.
Author and co-author of over 200 specialized works (articles, books, manuals), member of the organizing committee of some international conferences (for example: PEEC, CAFEE), member of the editorial board of some BDI magazines (International Editorial Council Rivista di Economia Agraria; Ecoforum; Journal of Tourism – studies and research in tourism; Journal of Academic Research in Environment and Geography), reviewer (Conference ICESS, CAFEE, IBIMA, MDPI); chair (IBIMA, Globalizacia) and guest editor (Frontiers), etc.
She received numerous awards: “Nicolas Georgescu Roegen” for the book Good governance. Cause and Effect of Social Negentropy, 2018, co- author; AGER Award for the book Survival – the paradigm of a sustainable future, 2011, co-author. Diploma of Excellence “Virgil Madgearu” 2006, Diploma “Nicolae Georgescu-Roegen”, 2003 and 2004; Diploma of praise for young researchers, Bucharest University of Economic Studies, awarded in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

Jonel Subić, Ph.D., Principal Research Fellow is the Director of the Institute of Agricultural Economics from Belgrade, Serbia. During his scientific-research work, he was (co)author at over the 250 scientific papers (including the 9 monographs), while over the 30 papers are published within the WoS journals. In his work, he is mainly turned to agroeconomy, with special accent to economic efficiency of investments, strategic planning in agriculture, or the economics of the use of new (clean) technologies in agriculture and rural development. He was involved in realization of over the 75 scientific and professional projects.

Sorin BURLACU is associate professor, PhD – member of the Department of Administration and Public Management within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. In 2009 he defended his doctorate with a thesis in the field of management entitled “Advanced training systems through electronic communication techniques”. Scientific research activities in economic management and public management within the Department of Administration and Public management:1 book published as sole author, 3 books published as co-author, over 100 articles published in specialized journals from Romania and abroad, indexed in international databases, participation in over 50 international conferences held in the country or abroad, member in over 20 research projects financed on the basis of competition (including projects co-financed by European funds).

Publication Opportunities:

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages on the 20-22 of March 2025 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) in partnership with the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Economics (EAM), the Faculty of International Economic Relations (REI), the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics (CSIE), the Faculty of Finance and Banking (FABBV), the Faculty of Theoretical and Applied Economics (ETA), the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems (CIG).

The papers accepted at ICBE 2025 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment, and presentation. The papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/picbe/picbe-overview.xml)

The last 8 editions of the Proceedings of the ICBE volumes have been indexed in ISI Web of Science.

In addition, the best three Papers (Best paper Award Management&Marketing) will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Web of Science- Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (www.degruyter.com/view/j/mmcks).

Submitted papers will also be considered for publication in the Journal of Risk and Financial Management (ISSN 1911-8074). JRFM is ranked B in the 2022 ABDC Journal Quality List and indexed by a number of databases, including Scopus (CiteScore 4.5; CiteScore category rank Q1), EconBiz/ECONIS, EconLit, EconPapers (RePEc), etc. JRFM is now #8 on the list based on the citation index (H5) for finance. In addition, two best paper awards (200 CHF each) will be published in the conference’s special issue “Leading Change in Disruptive Financial Times“. Selected papers will be considered for publication in the Journal of Financial Studies (ISSN: 2559-1347). JFS has been published by the Institute of Financial Studies since 2016. In its pages, works by professional practitioners, but also by authors from the scientific and university world in the country and abroad, as well as young researchers, will be published, concerning issues in the financial field such as: insurance-reinsurance, capital market, private pensions but also in other fields such as the academic field, the business field etc. The journal is indexed in DOAJ, RePEc, CEEOL, ERIHPLUS and Google Scholar (https://revista.isfin.ro/en/).
