Mini Track Chair:
The Corona Crisis that started in 2020 emphasized once more the importance of making strategic decisions to adjust to new business realities. Production flows, delivery models, or consumption patterns are under ongoing change and adaptation to immediate and sometimes dramatic public policy decisions.
Being an entrepreneur today seems to be more challenging than in the past. New business models bring disruptive changes in society. Digitalization and the inclusion of artificial intelligence force companies to rethink their entire operational management. Customers are more demanding than ever.
In this context, it is relevant to research the chances of entrepreneurs to survive in an uncertain future, with high pressure on costs, short product and market lifecycles, and the possibility of becoming a green player in the market.
We encourage participants as academic researchers, PhD students, specialists from the business sector, NGO’s, professional associations, etc. to submit papers on the topic of Strategic options for entrepreneurs in an uncertain future.
The main topics covered by the hereby call for papers are related to:
Univ. Prof. Mihaela-Cornelia DAN, Ph.D. – member of the UNESCO Department for Business Administration is currently teaching European Business Environment and International Business. Her professional interests and experience focus on issues in management and marketing, European business environment, the role of universities in the regional development process. She has been a member or a director of several research projects financed with European and national funds, with focus on the link between regional development and entrepreneurship, the impact of entrepreneurship on less developed regions in Romania, the behavior of Romanian young entrepreneurs in an emergent economy, challenges of young start-ups. Prof. Dan has published more than 40 scientific articles and conference papers. The most cited articles regard the topics of clusters, regional and urban development. Since 2015 Prof. Dan is the coordinator of the business incubator of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and develops support programs for students interested in an entrepreneurial career. The main goal is to strengthen the infrastructure of the business incubator and to attract established entrepreneurs and business angels for an ongoing support and cooperation.

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages on the 21-23 of March 2024 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) in partnership with the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Economics (EAM) and the Faculty of International Economic Relations (REI).
The papers accepted at ICBE 2024 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment, and presentation. The papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/picbe/picbe-overview.xml
The last 7 editions of the Proceedings of the ICBE volumes have been indexed in ISI Web of Science.

In addition, the best three Papers (Best paper Award Management&Marketing) will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Web of Science- Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (www.degruyter.com/view/j/mmcks).
Submitted papers will also be considered for publication in the Journal of Risk and Financial Management (ISSN 1911-8074). JRFM is ranked B in the 2022 ABDC Journal Quality List and indexed by a number of databases, including Scopus (CiteScore = 2.8), EconBiz/ECONIS, EconLit, EconPapers (RePEc), etc. JRFM is now #10 on the list based on the citation index (H5) for finance. In addition, two best paper awards (300 CHF each) will be published in the conference’s special issue “Smart Solutions for Sustainable Economics and Finance” of JRFM
Selected papers will be considered for publication in the Journal of Financial Studies (ISSN: 2559-1347). JFS has been published by the Institute of Financial Studies since 2016. In its pages, works by professional practitioners, but also by authors from the scientific and university world in the country and abroad, as well as young researchers, will be published, concerning issues in the financial field such as: insurance-reinsurance, capital market, private pensions but also in other fields such as the academic field, the business field etc. The journal is indexed in DOAJ, RePEc, CEEOL, ERIHPLUS and Google Scholar (https://revista.isfin.ro/en/).
