With the development of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual realities, social media, companies have changed the way they do marketing. These new technologies intervene more and more in the relation between companies and consumers, by triggering a bi-directional communication which addresses both to consumers and technology. In this way companies, not only have to focus on how to convince consumers to buy their products and services, but also to be present in the algorithms and search engines of the new technologies. In this mini-track, we focus on research papers that study the changes that new technologies bring to the marketing activity of companies.

Research topics can include, but are not limited to the following topics:

  • The impact of digitalization on marketing
  • Interaction between consumers and service robots
  • Recommendation systems used by AI personal assistants
  • The use of service robots in retail
  • The use of chat-bots for customer interactions
  • Trust in different forms of artificial intelligence
  • The use of augmented and virtual realities for enhancing marketing experiences
  • The use of augmented and virtual realities for e-commerce and online stores
  • The impact of social media on marketing communication
  • Challenges of the implementation of new technologies
