The rapid development of artificial intelligence, automation, digital platforms, and data-driven technologies is profoundly changing the way organizations create value, organize work, and manage their human capital. Human Resources is no longer only a support function, but an increasingly strategic actor in the transformation of business models, connecting technological innovation with people, skills, organizational culture, and new ways of working.
This mini-track invites researchers and practitioners to explore how digitalization and artificial intelligence are reshaping Human Resource Management and the role of people within emerging business models. Particular attention is given to the interaction between human capabilities and intelligent technologies, the redesign of jobs and organizational structures, the development of new skills, and the challenges associated with managing increasingly digital, flexible, and AI-enabled workplaces.
The track welcomes theoretical, empirical, and practice-oriented contributions examining how organizations can successfully integrate technological transformation while maintaining employee engagement, organizational resilience, responsible leadership, and sustainable performance.

By bringing together perspectives from Human Resource Management, organizational behavior, leadership, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and business strategy, this mini-track seeks to advance the discussion on how organizations can successfully transform their business models while keeping people at the center of technological change.

Valentina Mihaela Ghinea, PhD, is an associate professor at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. She mainly teaches Human Resource Management and Strategic Human Resource Management, as she holds a PhD in Organizational Culture dynamics. She formerly developed a career as import-export specialist, holding also the position of coordinator of import-export department. In 2008 and 2011, she was a visiting-professor to ENSAM Cluny, France, lecturing on communication and organizational culture. Valentina Mihaela Ghinea was part of different research teams in national projects, and she authored academic papers, books and chapters in her research and practitioner areas of interests. Certified as a trainer, she trained employees from the business sector. Currently, she is also the President of the Society for Business Excellence.

Luis Miguel Ciravegna Martins da Fonseca, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering of Porto (ISEP) and a researcher at the Associate Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aerospace (LAETA-INEGI). His expertise includes Quality and Organizational Excellence, Business and Industrial Management, Sustainability, Social Responsibility, and Circular Economy. Stanford University recognizes him as among the top global researchers (Source: DOI: 10.17632/btchxktzyw.7), and he has received several awards for his academic work. Luis Fonseca holds a PhD in Management (ISCTE-IUL, 2012), an MBA (IEP/ESADE, 1993), a Specialization in Quality Engineering (UNL/ISQ, 1987), and an Electrical Engineer degree (UP, 1982). He is an ASQ (American Society for Quality) Fellow Member and a Senior Member and Industrial Engineer and Management Specialist by Ordem dos Engenheiros (Portuguese National Association of Engineers). He has held leadership roles such as CEO of APCER (leading Portuguese systems certification body), Vice-President of the IQNet Association, and President of the North Delegation of the Portuguese Association for Quality (APQ) following a previous career (since 1982) as a Quality and Process Control Manager and engineer at several multinational companies.
