The new paradigms in the development of economy practices are forcing managers to rethink the strategies on sustainability and long-term development.  The role of accounting in this context is significant, not only in the area of cost estimation of a new agenda, but also on the scalability of the solutions proposed. Environmental management systems, corporate social responsibility, financial reporting, accountability and other environmental accounting practices are impacting the capabilities of   economic entities in the VUCA world. . This is an important and attractive research topic for academics and researchers. Big Data, Business Analytics and other digital tools, ESG reporting requirements, circular economy patterns and more should be integrated into the accounting endeavour, to enable additional value-added for entities  The Accounting minitrack chairs, jointly with The UNESCO Department for Business Administration, encourages participants as academic researchers, practitioners from the business sector, PhD students, people working in public administration (central bank, controlling authorities) and in the non-governmental sector, etc. to submit papers on the proposed topic.

A selection of the submitted papers will be published, subject to review, in the “Audit Financiar” journal. “Starting with 2017, “Audit Financiar” Journal is published on a quarterly basis. The Journal is scheduled for publication in February, May, August and November. This decision is due to the fact that we do not want to compromise the quality of published articles.
 

“Audit Financiar” Journal has been published by the Chamber of Financial Auditors in Romania since 2003 and has appeared without interruption ever since. During this period, the Journal obtained a reputation for the accounting profession, in general, and for financial auditors, in particular, as well as for academia. Its pages contain articles of authors from the scientific and university environment, both from Romania and abroad, and articles of professional practitioners, as well as of young researchers, focusing mainly on the fields of financial audit, accounting, finance, management and law. Starting with the first issue of the year 2015, the Journal has been published as a bilingual version (Romanian/English) and has been posted in a complete form, electronically on the Journal’s website.

Robin Jarvis is Professor of Accounting and Finance at Brunel University. In 2013 he was awarded the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the advancement of accounting and finance to the academic community. He is the Special Adviser to European Federation of Accountants and Auditors (EFAA) and a Board Member of the Genesis Initiative in the UK. Robin was a member of the International Accounting Standards Board’s (IASB) group in the development of IFRS for SMEs followed by membership of the IASB’s SME Implementation Group. For 11 years up until 2015 he was as a member of European Financial Reporting Advisory Group’s (EFRAG) Supervisory Board and their Research and Policy Committee. In 2013 he was appointed as a Jury Member of the Ethics and Trust in Finance Prize and more recently Robin was appointed as a Director of the Registry Trust Ltd. where he chairs their Audit and Risk Committee. Robin’s current research interest are on SME Standard Setting, Intangible Assets and Personal indebtedness. Robin is the author of 10 books and numerous research papers.

Adriana Duțescu is a professor of Accounting at Department of Accounting and Audit, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), Romania. Adriana has more than 25 years of academic experience, both as researcher and lecturer, alongside with a strong business experience in corporate reporting, strategic management and financial analysis. Full Professor and PhD Tutor, Adriana is the author of several professional and academic books on accounting topics and the author of several relevant articles and scientific papers upon financial reporting based on IFRS, auditing, financial instruments, performance systems in specific industries etc. She is a chartered financial auditor with relevant business experience and expertise. At the international level Adriana has contributed to the activity of the Federation of European Experts (Accountancy Europe), within the Accounting Working Group, to the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group, as a member of the Supervisory Board and to HERMES (Higher Education and Research in Management of European Universities) She currently supervises several doctoral theses in the areas of financial reporting, performance management and risk models.

Publication Opportunities:

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages on the 20-22 of March 2025 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) in partnership with the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Economics (EAM), the Faculty of International Economic Relations (REI), the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics (CSIE), the Faculty of Finance and Banking (FABBV), the Faculty of Theoretical and Applied Economics (ETA), the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems (CIG).

The papers accepted at ICBE 2025 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment, and presentation. The papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/picbe/picbe-overview.xml)

The last 8 editions of the Proceedings of the ICBE volumes have been indexed in ISI Web of Science.

In addition, the best three Papers (Best paper Award Management&Marketing) will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Web of Science- Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (www.degruyter.com/view/j/mmcks).

Submitted papers will also be considered for publication in the Journal of Risk and Financial Management (ISSN 1911-8074). JRFM is ranked B in the 2022 ABDC Journal Quality List and indexed by a number of databases, including Scopus (CiteScore 4.5; CiteScore category rank Q1), EconBiz/ECONIS, EconLit, EconPapers (RePEc), etc. JRFM is now #8 on the list based on the citation index (H5) for finance. In addition, two best paper awards (200 CHF each) will be published in the conference’s special issue “Leading Change in Disruptive Financial Times“. Selected papers will be considered for publication in the Journal of Financial Studies (ISSN: 2559-1347). JFS has been published by the Institute of Financial Studies since 2016. In its pages, works by professional practitioners, but also by authors from the scientific and university world in the country and abroad, as well as young researchers, will be published, concerning issues in the financial field such as: insurance-reinsurance, capital market, private pensions but also in other fields such as the academic field, the business field etc. The journal is indexed in DOAJ, RePEc, CEEOL, ERIHPLUS and Google Scholar (https://revista.isfin.ro/en/).
