This mini-track is dedicated to young students who are at the beginning of their scientific research career. The track welcomes papers from undergarduate and graduate students (BA, MA, PhD candidates) with an interest in business administration or in economics.

Vanesa Vargas is Lecturer at the Faculty of Business Administration in foreign languages, where she teaches Entrepreneurship, the European Business Environment and Business Simulations. Her field of research is focused on E-Commerce, and her doctoral thesis was centered on the use of personal data in E-Business and Consumer Protection. She is the office manager of the Higher Education and Research in Management of European Universities (HERMES) and past President of the Rotaract Deva Association. She is a graduate of the German section of the Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages and completed in 2019 the studies for the Bachelor of Laws. Vanesa is a former Konrad Adenauer Foundation scholar and in 2016 she obtained a Trainer certificate. She completed an internship in the Romanian Government, at the Ministry for Small and Medium Enterprises. Recently, she has taken on a key role in organizing the International Conference on Business Excellence, the International Conference on Economics and Social Sciences and publishing the conference proceedings. Vanesa has strong ties with the entrepreneurial network of FABIZ and actively contributes to its development. 

Eduard Mihai Manta, a third-year Ph.D. student and research assistant at the Doctoral School of Cybernetics and Statistics, is one of the first researcher members of the Business Economics Data Science Lab. With over eight years of experience in model risk management, he has held various positions in data teams within a major financial institution in Europe, including roles in Sustainable Finance, ESG, stock ranking, and risk intelligence lead model validation. Recently, his focus has shifted to sustainability, informality, machine learning, and quantitative analysis. His Ph.D. research examines the COVID-19 pandemic as an accelerator for implementing sustainable, resilient, green, and inclusive development concepts globally. Eduard has also contributed to the educational field through his work with a leading NGO, developing reports that support organizational decision-making. He has over four years of teaching experience in econometrics, time series analysis, predictive analytics, and machine learning. Eduard has authored over 10 ISI research papers, participated in more than 15 international conferences, and published around 20 book chapters with Emerald, Springer, and Routledge on topics such as informality, sustainability, and ESG. Additionally, he has been involved in various national and international research projects, including a HORIZON project on informality.

Marina-Diana Agafiței is a PhD student and a research assistent in the Department of Statistics and Econometrics at Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania and a researcher within Business Economics Data Science Lab, focusing on data-driven approaches for business and economics. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cybernetics and Economic Statistics, her research primarily explores tax evasion and the informal economy through both quantitative and qualitative methods, alongside advanced data science techniques. Her other areas of interest include taxation systems, the intersection of the informal economy and labour market, and public policy evaluation. Additionally, she is actively involved in both institutional and international projects that span topics such as informality, artificial intelligence, and public policy.

Publication Opportunities:

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages on the 20-22 of March 2025 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) in partnership with the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Economics (EAM), the Faculty of International Economic Relations (REI), the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics (CSIE), the Faculty of Finance and Banking (FABBV), the Faculty of Theoretical and Applied Economics (ETA), the Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems (CIG).

The papers accepted at ICBE 2025 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment, and presentation. The papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/picbe/picbe-overview.xml)

The last 8 editions of the Proceedings of the ICBE volumes have been indexed in ISI Web of Science.

In addition, the best three Papers (Best paper Award Management&Marketing) will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Web of Science- Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (www.degruyter.com/view/j/mmcks).

Submitted papers will also be considered for publication in the Journal of Risk and Financial Management (ISSN 1911-8074). JRFM is ranked B in the 2022 ABDC Journal Quality List and indexed by a number of databases, including Scopus (CiteScore 4.5; CiteScore category rank Q1), EconBiz/ECONIS, EconLit, EconPapers (RePEc), etc. JRFM is now #8 on the list based on the citation index (H5) for finance. In addition, two best paper awards (200 CHF each) will be published in the conference’s special issue “Leading Change in Disruptive Financial Times“. Selected papers will be considered for publication in the Journal of Financial Studies (ISSN: 2559-1347). JFS has been published by the Institute of Financial Studies since 2016. In its pages, works by professional practitioners, but also by authors from the scientific and university world in the country and abroad, as well as young researchers, will be published, concerning issues in the financial field such as: insurance-reinsurance, capital market, private pensions but also in other fields such as the academic field, the business field etc. The journal is indexed in DOAJ, RePEc, CEEOL, ERIHPLUS and Google Scholar (https://revista.isfin.ro/en/).
