Greening the economy has become a desideratum not just in EU member states, but worldwide. The economy is adapting to these requirements and it imprints new consumption patterns to reduce the carbon footprint, environmental protection, green finance, renewable energy, just to mention a few. In European countries, numerous changes have occurred after the Paris Agreement of 2015 and the European Green Deal of 2019.
Concomitantly, virtual environments or metaverses are the next level in digitalization. We are currently witnessing major transformations in industry, business, learning & education, healthcare, governance, leisure and entertainment with the advent and development of several technologies, such as: artificial intelligence, immersive technology (virtual reality, augmented reality), 3D virtual environments, IoT, big data analytics, digital twins, 5G, machine learning, blockchain, cloud and edge computing, robotics, just to name a few.
Businesses have partially or totally moved in the online environment, and this process has been accelerated by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. They now have to explore and benefit from the opportunities provided by the online environment. Finance and banking companies have also started to develop their online presence, whereas crowdfunding and cryptocurrencies have also gained ground as alternatives to the status-quo. Manufacturing has started to transition towards Industry 4.0, too, by including: IIoT, robotics, 3D printing, AI, cloud computing, and big data in their processes.

Mina Fanea-Ivanovici is a Professor within the Department of Economics and Economic Policies at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania. She has a PhD in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Finance and Management Control from the University of Orléans. Mina has 16 years’ experience in teaching and research, and has authored academic textbooks, articles, conference papers, books and book chapters in the field of Economics. Her main research interests revolve around crowdfunding, cultural & creative industries, health economics, digital literacy and digitalization. At the same time, she is a reviewer of several prominent WoS-indexed journals and a doctoral supervisor. In 2016 she worked as an independent expert for the Ministry of Culture and was a member of the team in charge of revising Romania’s Strategy for Culture and National Heritage.

Małgorzata Siemionek-Ruskań holds a PhD in the field of Management from the University of Gdańsk in Poland. Since 2017 she has been working as an associate Professor at The Faculty of Management in the Department of Banking and Finance at the University of Gdańsk. She teaches in English subjects such as: finance, public finance, risk management, modern Behavioral Finance. She is an author of more than 20 research papers published in Polish and foreign academic journals, journals indexed in international databases and volumes of international and national scientific events. Her scientific research focuses on strategy management, financial management in city, public finance, controlling and crowdfunding. She has taken part in international conferences and teaching programmes such as Erasmus Teaching Staff Mobility in Germany and Spain. In May 2010 she took part in Rotary’s Foundations Group Study Exchange Programme in Florida in the USA as a part of four young professionals representing Poland

Publication Opportunities:

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages on the 23-25 of March 2023 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) in partnership with the Romanian Academy, the University of Bucharest and the Sapienza University from Rome, Italy. The papers accepted at ICBE 2023 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment and presentation. The papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/picbe/picbe-overview.xml

In addition, the best three Papers (Best paper Award Management&Marketing) will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Web of Science- Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (www.degruyter.com/view/j/mmcks).

Selected papers will be published, subject to review, in a Special Issue of Sustainability journal (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/sustainability/special_issues/Post-Industrial_Design_Sustainability_Development_Goals).

A selection of the submitted papers will be published, subject to review, in the Romanian Journal of Economic Forecasting (https://ipe.ro/rjef.htm).

At the final ceremony, based on a selection of the international committee, there will be granted three Best Paper Awards Management&Marketing (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/mmcks/mmcks-overview.xml, indexed in Web of Science) and two Excellence Awards.
