Mini-Tracks

21 – 23 March 2024

“The best way to predict the future is to create it.” – Abraham Lincoln

Mini Track Chair:

  • Shahrazad Hadad, The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania

  • Dalia Poleac, The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania

The aim of this mini track is to explore how businesses can use creativity and design to address current and future global challenges.

No formal cross-sector collaboration convention has been established so far between the creative industries and the corporate world. However, in the future, creativity is expected to grow in demand as part of the skills taxonomy required to drive innovation and solve complex business problems. The ambiguity and complex issues that industries will face must be managed by leaders who know how to navigate change. Creative workers can teach these skills, indispensable in an ecosystem of increasing volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.

With this mini track, we seek to better understand and define creativity for business innovation, and learn how to apply it to transform ideas into sustainable actions. Two types of thinking are essential for adapting businesses to change: management thinking and design thinking. Design thinking is useful for responding to a new reality that cannot be predicted, while management thinking is what supports and implements innovation.

The main topics covered by the hereby call for papers are related to:

  • Design Thinking for Business
