Today’s reality is reshaping the business environment in a fast moving way, with a velocity that makes it difficult to integrate. Globalisation in all fields materialy impacts the business environment and the way organizations bound with their stakeholders. “Datafication” of the business environment has an important role in reshaping future managerial behavior and business models. These challenges arise specifically from new drivers of performance improvement and strategic development, such as cloud computing, big data, and data analytics. Business intelligence and Business Analytics are transforming the paradigms companies are using to define their strategy and to analyze their performance, both for management and integrated financial reporting scope. Financial reporting and business sustainability are becoming synergic with new advance technology. The future of accounting shall be dramatically reshaped, on order to help businesses think holistically about their strategy and plans, make informed decisions, manage key opportunities and risks, in order to build investor and stakeholder confidence. New communication technologies and innovation are forcing the classical business models to adapt and accounting is playing a crucial role in supporting this changes and challenges. How would the business future look like ? Are we prepaired to be part of the challenge or just struggle to follow it? Let’s find together some answers. The Accounting minitrack chairs, jointly with The UNESCO Department for Business Administration, encourage participants as academic researchers, practitioners from the business sector, PhD students, people working in public administration (central bank, controlling authorities) and in the non-governmental sector, etc. to submit papers on the proposed topics.

Adriana Duțescu, Professor PhD., RCA, RCTA, member of the Accounting Department, within Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Accounting and Information Systems. Professor Dutescu has more than 23 years of academic experience, both as researcher and lecturer, alongside with a strong business experience in corporate reporting, strategic management and financial analysis. Full Professor and PhD Tutor, Professor Dutescu is the author of severalprofessional and academic books on accounting topics and the author of several relevant articles and scientific papers upon financial reporting based on IFRS, auditing, financial instruments, performance systems in specific industries etc. She is a chartered financial auditor and a chartered tax advisor, with relevant business experience and expertise. At the international level Professor Dutescu has contributed to the activity of the Federation of European Experts, within the Accounting Working Group, to the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group, as a member of the Supervisory Board and to HERMES (Higher Education and Research in Management of European Universities).

Adriana Tiron-Tudor, is full professor, PhD supervisor in accounting and auditing at Babeș-Bolyai University, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). She was a member of IPSASB, IFAC (2012-2018) and FEE PSC (2008-2018) representing CECCAR and she is involved in international and European research network, projects and PhD committees. Her research interest is in corporate and public sector entities reporting for a sustainable development, including integrated reporting, financial and non-financial reporting. She published articles also in the area of accounting history and profession.

Nick Tsitsianis has a PhD in Behavioural Economics from Brunel University (Department of Economics and Finance) and joined Queen Mary University of London in May 2013. Before joining School of Business and Management he held academic positions at Brunel University (Department of Economics and Finance), University of Kent at Canterbury (Department of Economics) and University of Hertfordshire Business School (Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics). Nick has successfully taught numerous Modules ranging from Economics and Econometrics to Financial Statement Analysis and Corporate Finance across different modes of study. He has also contributed in 2017 a full module (Financial Reporting Analysis) to the Global MBA administered by the University of London. ( )

Publication Opportunities:

The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and UNESCO Department for Business Administration on the 19-21 of March 2020 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) in partnership with the Romanian Academy, the University of Bucharest and the Sapienza University from Rome, Italy. The papers accepted at ICBE 2020 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment and presentation. The papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index (
