Intelligence about competition is far from new. From a historical perspective, successful business has always incorporated research and information on competitors while exploiting their vulnerabilities and picking up useful ideas. In addition, in the last decades, competitive intelligence has been extensively professionalized being acknowledged as a crucial element when building a sustainable business strategy. The panel aims to provide a comprehensive picture on the most recent intelligence-driven practices focusing on competitors, technology, sales, marketing, pricing and other organizational key areas. In particular, it looks into the components of an intelligence system, its processes, and variables. Both empirical and theoretical papers are expected outlining existing models and best practices in developing sustainable intelligence competitive systems at an organizational and national scale.
Mireille Radoi – Starting in 2010, dr. Mireille Radoi has been the General Director of the Central University Library “Carol I”, the most important institut of its kind in Romania, under the administration of the Education Ministry. Being the first women to occupy the position, since it was founded in 1891. Engaged in myriard of research projects, LIB2LIFE being utmost remarkable; a project aiming the “Revival of Libraries and Cultural Heritage Through Advanced Technology”. Throughout the professional career, held decision-making positions in the public and private sector. Currently an associate professor at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest and at the National Intelligence Academy. President of „Carol I” University Foundation http://en.fundatiacarol.ro/ Founder and host of Club RO, a transdisciplinary, and transpartinic, GOV-NGO and only think tank with no political association, successfully running for 9 years now. Author of the first Romanian book on Intelligence Services and the Political Decision Making, having a theoretic approach, in 2003 and of the first Romanian book on Public Policies Evaluation, in 2004. She is interested in investigating the relationships between various intelligence actors and the other sectors of the social life. Co-author and contributor to more than 50 books. She was keynote speaker at many conferences. Her expertise cover knowledge in: management, intercultural communication and critical infrastructure protection and decision making strategies. Licenced in psychology and holding a doctorate in political science. University of California awarded the FULBRIGHT scholarship in collaboration with the US State Department, on the subject of the US National Security Policymaking in a Post 9/11 World. Awarded the Certificate by BUNDESNACHRICHTENDIENST. Awarded the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Certificate Headquarters in Ottawa Canada. Awarded the Service de Formation-D.G.S.E. (France).
Irena Chiru is a professor of intelligence studies at “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy, Romania. She holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Bucharest where she researched Romania’s representations and heteroimages in foreign media. Currently she serves as the chair of the International Association for Intelligence Education – European Chapter. In the last 20 years, she has taught more than 200 scientific seminars and colloquia and given more than 30 educational talks on strategic communication and its impact on intelligence organizations. She has also coordinated research teams involved in research projects dedicated to security and intelligence: (Citizen Interaction Technologies Yield Community Policing – CITY COP, Horizon 2020 (2015-2018), Culture and Risk Management in Man-made and Natural Disasters – CARISMAND, Horizon 2020 (2016-2018), Evolving security science through Networked Technologies, Information Policy and Law – ESSENTIAL – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks European Joint Doctorate (2014-2020), Mind the gap in media CoveRagE and Strategic Communication in CasE of security Threats – CRESCEnt, ERASMUS+ (2018-2021), or joined international research teams: A radical model of resilience for young minds – ARMOUR, DIGI Home (2019-2021), The Empowering a Pan-European Network to Counter Hybrid Threats – EU-HYBNET, Horizon 2020 (2019-2024). The conference is organized by Society for Business Excellence and UNESCO Department for Business Administration on the 18-19 of March 2021 at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) in partnership with the Romanian Academy, the University of Bucharest and the Sapienza University from Rome, Italy. The papers accepted at ICBE 2021 will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration, payment and presentation. The papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings volume under the German Publishing House De Gruyter and they will be indexed in EBSCO, Proquest, ExLibris, OCLC, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CELDES, CNPIE, Naviga, and will be submitted to Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science (WOS) Conference Proceedings Citation Index (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/picbe/picbe-overview.xml
In addition, the best three Papers (Best paper Award Management&Marketing) will be published in the international journal Management & Marketing. Challenges for the Knowledge Society by De Gruyter Open, indexed in Web of Science- Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Proquest, Cabell’s Directory and more than 20 other international databases (www.degruyter.com/view/j/mmcks).
At the final ceremony, based on a selection of the international committee, there will be granted three Best Paper Awards Management&Marketing (https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/mmcks/mmcks-overview.xml, indexed in Web of Science) and two Excellence Awards.
